This is my first time visiting cat cafe and guess where it is? It's in Causeway Bay, Hongkong!

In this cafe you can freely interacting with the cats

I had a chance to visit a #CatCafe called Ah Mao in Hongkong last April 2018. This cafe is actually a members only cafe where you need to register before you can enjoy the atmosphere. However, don't worry the owner will help you to register even if you are the first-timer visitor like us. They will give us a cute membership card like this for free :

One of the most exciting & confusing part of this visit were my experience to find the place. If you are Indonesian, i think you will be surprised by the fact that this cafe is operating inside an apartment building. Me & my partner had a hard time looking for the entrance door, but if you find small door with intercom on Poo Ming building, just try come in and you can ask the security for direction.

Yes, the cafe is operating inside this kind of apartment building

Please don't imagine those well built apartment, the apartment looked a lot like those one in the Hongkong action movies that i used to watch when i was a kid. It was a little creepy until i found this super cute door after getting off a super old school elevator in the 3rd floor. By the way, you need to open the door manually to get on and off the elevator.

The interior & ambiance of this cat cafe is really cute & homey. You can see a lot of local especially students come to this place.

Obviously you will find cats roam around the cafe. If you're lucky enough, you may have one sleeping next to you like i did.

The food are also have a cats theme and the price is quite fair for Hongkong standard.

Super cuteeeee

How do i get there?

So basically, you need to go to causeway bay area in the northern area of Hongkong island. You can use MTR and find your way to Blue line (Island Line) and take your exit on Causeway Bay Station. It takes another 4 minutes by walk to the Po Ming Building from the station. You can follow this Gmaps link to get there. Or if you want to get different experience you can try to take the ding ding tram to causeway bay station.

How much do i need to pay?

You don't need to pay any entrance fee to come to this cafe, however they have minimum purchase for 100 HKD (around 180.000 IDR) but you stay as along as you want.

CICI Review Tips :

  1. As the cats are basically the owner of the cafe, you will find cat fur on just everything (sofa, table, or even food if you're lucky enough). Please make sure you don't have any fur allergy.

  2. Read the instruction about how to treat and pet the cats (they provide the information as story book in every table). Some cats can be pretty grumpy if you approach them in a wrong way. I got one bit my hand after i'm trying to touch it while it was sleeping. :(

So, how does it different to Indonesian cat cafe? I've never been to one in Indonesia before. Please tell me your experience in the comment section. I would love to hear something from you guys! Don't forget to follow us on Instagram @cicireview for our newest traveling review.
